Albelda and Baraja remember time at Valencia CF

Rubén Baraja and David Albelda formed part of one of the most successful midfield partnerships in Valencia CF history. Combined, they featured for 25 seasons for the club, in a total of 900 total appearances. Still fondly remembered by fans for their role in the greatest Valencia CF side to date, the pair gave an exclusive interview to VCF MEDIA ahead of the club's Centenary.

"Hard work gave us the opportunity to achieve great thing at Valencia CF. Playing for ten years here has enabled us to form part of a small bit of the club's history, and we also had the great fortune to win trophies and enjoy them with the fans," remembers Baraja. "

"Valencia CF means everything to me, as it's the team that allowed me to play for Spain, be an important player and experience the best moments of my career and my life."

Albelda commented that "We were lucky enough for our paths to cross and we formed a great tandem. But we have to be fair and talk about the entire squad. Every single one of the players gave something to the team. We didn't have prolific goalscorers, but as a group we were a great team."

"It's a privilege to have played for as important a club as Valencia CF. Every player dreams of these moments, because before then the club were a big side and were winning trophies, but not as frequently as we did."
